JHATW Project

This unusual, creative and imaginative project has been from the outset of a deliberately embryonic, evolutionary nature and continues to develop in that manner. Activities are the product of the needs and choice of participants.

Current Programme

The 2004/05 programme was about the fourth and final stages of the 'pilot project'.   From 2006 an 'enlarged' and more ambitious JHATW  Anglo-Japanese project is being planned and developed for future years.

Evaluation

The project is being continually monitored and evaluated independently.  It is anticipated that the 'pilot' experience and knowledge will provide an excellent basis for the project continuum.  Currently, some more focussed evaluations are being compiled.

Future Programmes

As time has progressed it has become increasingly apparent that a successful ‘model’ is being created which could be expanded in the UK and Japan . . . and could (possibly) also be replicated elsewhere in the world in future years.

Practical Activity with Collaborative Partners

Since January 2004 the project has ‘evolved’ in several directions but in order to keep a direct and meaningful purpose, two main strands of practical activity have emerged and have become a ‘focus’ for individuals and groups in UK and Japan.

1.   Friendship Art Boxes – individual, imaginative and creative works of art. Using commercially available flat-pack boxes which can either be used as a receptacle to accommodate a piece of Art work . . . or decorated to become a work of Art in itself. They can also combine the two concepts or developed differently . . .

2.   Visual Art --  Exhibition Pictures – a variety of Mounted Art Work in a variety of media including drawings, calligraphy, paintings, prints and photographs etc etc.

In 2005 the project grew in breadth and depth.  New categories of activities have emerged, e.g. photography, calligraphy and craftwork.  Examples of work are displayed in the Gallery

It is anticipated that further areas of the work in the Arts will be added in the future, e.g. poetry, story telling, performance art and music.

Network Partners

A diverse range of Network Partners form and important part of the JHATW project. We share much in common from objectives and philosophy to organising and facilitating 'practical activities'.  Some are both 'collaborative' and 'network' partners Mutual support , assistance, shared information and contact are beneficial to all.

Future Collaborations

Practical developments of a wider range of Arts activities is expected to become an integral part of the JHATW project in the future.   Additional Collaborators and Network Partners are welcome.
